My Story
Patience Phiri | Malawi
Hi my name is Patience.
My story begins with my family… I was raised by a widowed mother with three other sisters. My dad died when I was eight years old.
I lived in the village called Misuku Hills, in the northern part of Malawi. Our primary source of income in our village was through farming various crops including coffee.
We never had electricity in our home village, so I used to look out at the lights in Tanzania, our neighboring country and think one day I would like to have lights in our community.
My Mom worked very hard to take care of us. Apart from being a primary school teacher, she was also a farmer. She worked tirelessly to provide for us.
My family got into the coffee business with cooperatives in our home village, but it would take months before you could get paid back, we would struggle in those months. Half of the community stopped growing coffee because of this.
I moved into the city to stay with my elder sister to get better education and also with a heart to give back to my community one day.
I went to African Bible college later on, worked various jobs through the college and started going to offices and selling coffee.
I finally established the coffee business in the year 2022, with a heart for developing my community both economically and spiritually, supporting the widows, elderly, orphans and helping the local farmers with a better market of coffee.
We have widows and single parents working now in the company. And the women are connecting, the business and community coming together, we are buying the coffee from the local farmers and the widows are processing this.
My hopes and aspirations are to accomplish God centered business that will help me to grow and my community grow as well.
To see my business beyond. It's not just a business, it's a way to change lives.
By subscribing through my kingdom coffee you are not only helping me to achieve my goals but you are being part of the change makers in my community.
Thank you for your support.
